What does Kids Earth Fund Do?
KIDS EARTH FUND is an international non-profit organization that uses children's art as a medium to assist children around the world by promoting education, peaceful co-existence and environmental conservation. KEF provides children with monety and non-monetary support which includes medical supplies, clothing and art and educational supplies as well as psychological care in order to promote their total well-being. Kids Earth Fund has 8 KIDS EARTH HOMES around the world, support centers staffed with professionals and colunteers located throughout Asia and eastern Europe, provide medical treatment, education, food, housing, art therapy and psychological counseling to children in need. Additionally, Kids Earth Fund conducts numerous workshops that are designed to encourage children to creatively visualize their ideal worlds as well as encouraging them to work cooperatively through participation in group activities.
“Kids Helping Kids” is the philosophy and cornerstone of their organization. KEF collects children’s artwork that expresses a global vision of peace and environmental care. Children donate their artwork to KEF, and with the assistance of corporate sponsorship, they create products using the artwork, such as greeting cards, calendars, mugs and merchandise packaging. The artwork is also exhibited and sold to help raise funds to assist other children. All proceeds are used by KEF to communicate their message of peace and conservation throughout the world. Thus, through KEF, kids around the world are helping each other.
Where does the funding go?
– To food, medicine, educational supplies and psychological care to promote childrens total well being. We are dependent on sponsors and monetary contributions to be able to help children both short and long term.
How will this work in Sweden?
– We will be working with workshops for children to help build up their self confidence. Thereafter have fund raising activities and exhibitions to raise funds that will go back to local and global projects depending on where the money is mostly needed at a particular time. Updates will be sent out by newsletter and on our Kids Earth Fund Sweden website once it is updated. In the meantime I will have updates on my own website.

The Founder of Kids Earth Fund Harumi Torii was here for a 4 day visit to go through the start up of Kids Earth Fund here in Sweden. We discussed projects that I will be carrying out this autum here in Sweden. We also discussed projects and exhibitions that have been carried out throughout the world that I can implement here in Sweden.
